Pepakura
I recently discovered a new hobby, pepakura or papercraft, it is where you make 3-D objects out of paper. It’s different from origami because you don’t fold paper into 3-D objects, you cut and glue pieces of shapes together with some minor folding to form an object. I’ve made one a while back which is the motocycle from the game Contra, it was crappy because I didn’t print it on thick paper. The one I made recently came from Macross, the YF-1S Valkyrie from this website which they have other things you can make.
I didn’t time how long I’ve spent on it but probably 6 or 7 hrs. Next one I will print it on a color printer, this one I don’t really care because I just wanted to test myself. I might even make another one in color but I need to pick up a new x-acto knife and a cutting mat, it is crucial to have the right tools otherwise it’ll take longer than it should.

Sweet.
wow that’s sweet! can u make one that transforms?
I’d be all over that if I were more into those sci-fi things. Tell me if there’s a dragon one.
Have you seen any of the top tier origami creations? Some are just insane.
TRANSFORMER rocks!
eh…. is this the paper thing u told me about? damn. looks pretty nice.
whoa that’s really cool!
Make one for me too! I want a horse.
That’s awesome!
That’s pretty cool, you should build one like the Megatron from the Transformer. I watched it already, it’s pretty cool.
You can find a lot of different things to make on the web by searching for pepakura or papercraft. I wish it can transform but it doesn’t.
That’s awesome!!!!! Did it take you a long time?
wow cool.. now if only they had optimus prime…or even bumblebee!
thats nice work!
is that a computer in the background? it looks cool too!
very cool model! I once saw a Gorilla made the same way.
Nice model. Takes me back to younger years…..to the days of Robotech.
That’s really awesome!
I’m a hardcore Robotech fan (not so much Macross). The Valkyrie is such a classic mecha!
beautiful. my friend’s dad was into making paper models of star trek ships. that was the same friend who i actually watched the entire macross series with in a two day marathon of giant robots, pizza, and IBC root beer. *le sigh* thanks for bring back the memories
